Qualification Criteria for the Scholarship:
1. There will be two scholarships given to each of the school level. The four school levels are:
a) Elementary School Level (Grades 1 - 5 or 6)
b) Middle School Level (Grades 6 or 7 - 8 or 9)
c) High school Level (Grades 9 or 10 - 12)
d) College Level (Undergraduate - Freshman to Senior)
2. The scholarship will be awarded to the two top students in each level with the highest average at the end of the school year.
3. If more than two students have the same high average, then the amount of the total scholarship amount will be divided among the number of students that have achieved the highest grade average.
4. The following is a breakdown of the criteria that a student must meet:
School Level Minimum Grade Average Scholarship Award
Elementary 90 (or G+) or higher 1st - $200
(1 - 5 or 6) 2nd - $100
Middle School 90 or higher 1st - $300
(6 or 7 - 8 or 9) 2nd - $200
High School 90 or higher 1st - $400
(9 or 10 - 12) 2nd - $300
College 3.5 (or B+) or higher 1st - $1,000
(undergraduate) 2nd - $750
5. At the end of the school year, June or July, the original school report cards should be submitted for review (the report cards will be returned). It will be determined which two students have the highest grade average (with a minimum of 90). The scholarships will be presented in the following January or February at the Moy's Association's Annual Chinese New Year Celebration Banquet.
Submission Deadline: October 31, 2001.
